The Savages

Great movie with an excellent pairing of Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman as brother and sister. Kind of depressing, with watching the deterioration of the father.

How She Mov

Decent movie. The best part is the final dance competition (of course), which is completely worth sitting through the rest of the movie for!

27 Dresses

Complete chick flick. At times, felt a lot like watching "13 Going on 30"...right down to having Judy Greer playing the best friend. Not bad...not superb, but definitely one for the women out there :)

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

Totally excellent.
Great cast.
Spectacular, awesome, intriguing, not terribly predictable, which was great.
All around, completely excellent film.

Cloverfield

Interesting. I really liked this. Didn't know much about it, so I thought it was going to be more than one home video, but was glad it was just one for the entire movie. Definitely worth watching, and I can see why everyone is looking forward to this one hitting the shelves on Tuesday.

Juno

Really well done. And, contrary to some people's opinion, this movie doesn't endorse or glamorize teenage pregnancy. It's a great story, with an excellent cast, and definitely worth watching. Jason Bateman is still totally awesome, and Jennifer Garner does a good job in her role as well.

Lars and the Real Girl

An awesome movie that is well written, well acted, and definitely quite humourous, while at the same time being a bit sad as Lars and the people around him work through the issues presented by Lars' new "friend". I loved this movie.

28 Days Later

28 Days Later is a great movie, regardless of whether it was a "true" zombie movie or not. I plan to watch 28 Weeks Later shortly, even though I have heard that the first movie is the better of the two. 28 Days Later is well written, directed, shot, and acted. I will want to see this one again, and probably again.

Fingerprints

Interesting enough story, I guess, but boy, what terrible acting, especially on the part of Kristin Cavallari. Leah Pipes was decent enough, but Kristin Cavallari should not be allowed to act. If she hadn't been in this movie, it might have been more tolerable. As it was, I was cracking up during Andrew Lawrence's death scene, and I knew the movie wasn't bound to get much better after that. So it is surprising that this film won best feature at the New York City Horror Film Festival...and that one critic said this film delivers, because it really wasn't anything spectacular, or even particularly great.

Big Nothing

Entertaining, but nothing truly special. Simon Pegg is great, though it would have been better if he had kept his accent. David Schwimmer is...well...still playing pretty much a loser. The movie starts off strong enough, but through the course of the movie gets more and more ridiculous right up until the end.
