Things We Lost in the Fire

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 29 February 2008 03:54 (A review of Things We Lost in the Fire)

Just finished watching this, and man, was I impressed with it. A really good movie, from start to finish, it is one of the rare ones that I have watched recently that has kept me in my seat, watching from start to finish, with no breaks. Really well acted, and written, with a good cast, and a strong and emotional story. I will definitely be watching this one again.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 29 February 2008 03:53 (A review of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium)

I just watched this movie, having never heard of it before. I had no expectations, and no real idea of what the movie was about...and I quite enjoyed the movie. Jason Bateman had me laughing out loud at one point, and I know I had a smile on my face for most of the movie, if not all of it. This is a good family movie, and well worth watching.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

I just watched this movie, having never heard of it before. I had no expectations, and no real idea of what the movie was about (as I didn't read the cover box for the DVD)....and I quite enjoyed the movie. Jason Bateman had me laughing out loud at one point, and I know I had a smile on my face for most of the movie, if not all of it. This is a good family movie, and well worth watching.

30 Days of Night

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 27 February 2008 11:19 (A review of 30 Days of Night)

This was one of the better horror movies I have seen for quite a while now. It's just a shame I had to watch the movie in bits and pieces over a couple of days, due to a busy schedule!!

Quite brutal, lots of blood, and a decent story...as well as decent acting. I really liked it, and will definitely watch it again.

The Island

Posted : 16 years, 3 months ago on 6 February 2008 05:54 (A review of The Island)

Another completely predictable movie. Every plot twist I saw coming long before it arrived, so there were no surprises. I did, however, find the movie entertaining, and loved all the action and destruction. I just sat back and watched this movie, and while not completely blown away, I definitely enjoyed it...though it seems more like a "watch once" kind of movie to me.

Sweet Home Alabama

Posted : 16 years, 3 months ago on 6 February 2008 05:43 (A review of Sweet Home Alabama)

While completely predictable, this is a sweet and entertaining movie. If you put your brain on hold and watch it for what it is, it is quite enjoyable. The story is decent; the acting, also decent. I don't know that I will watch this movie more than once or twice in my life, but it was one I don't regret seeing.

The Last Mimzy

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 5 November 2007 05:31 (A review of The Last Mimzy)

This movie is terrible. The acting is awful, the script is unbelievable (even when suspending belief)...and the only people worth watching in the whole movie were Rainn Wilson, Timothy Hutton, Joely Richardson, and Kathryn Hahn. Everyone else is a low-budget, bad actor, especially the annoying little girl, who can't even decently fake a seizure.

Say Anything

Posted : 16 years, 8 months ago on 13 September 2007 05:30 (A review of Say Anything)

I loved this movie. I don't think I had ever seen it before this year, which is surprising, given my affinity for movies from the 1980's, and having grown up on said movies!

A shame I hadn't seen it before, or at least, don't remember having seen it before. Well written, directed, and acted, this movie is a classic. "I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen".

I love it.
