About my collections

I don't have a video game collection, but I do play and collect computer games. Other than that, my movie, book and music collections are always growing - the movie collection more quickly than the others, lately!

I am trying to add my favourite movies and television show sets to my collection, and any other movies that grab my interest along the way.

Thanks! My girlfriend made that for me! She's very talented! It's very spooky!

Hey there! Just a book suggestion. I'm about half way through William Kennedy's Ironweed. It's captured my attentions just like a John Irving novel so if you haven't had a chance to read any of Kennedy's Albany novels, I definitely recommend them.

The Harvey Girls is one of my grandma's favorite movies. She just had me watch it this past winter. Not sure why it didn't get as much attention as some of the other since it stars Judy Garland but if you like musicals, it's a good one.

You're kidding me?! 60,000 points? Wow. Maybe someone is reporting you or something now that the new report button is in...

Sleep deprivation sucks. I hope it gets back to normal for you. Stuffs up everything!

Ditto. You were right about The Barrens photo too. It's kinda like The Barrens from Stephen King's: IT down there.

Hey! Just popping in to say thanks for all of the votes lately. :)

About me

I love watching/collecting movies and TV shows, as well as reading/collecting books and music. I like to write, and I have one child.

I just started working at Blockbuster, and LOVE the fact that I can watch tons of movies for free (well, 10 a week, but that's more than I usually have time for!!).

Nintendo Wii Console

Posted : 2 days, 17 hours ago on 14 May 2008 04:20 (A review of Nintendo Wii Console)

I just bought a Wii less than 12 hours ago, after taking a bit of time to decide which console to buy. The Wii is the cheapest by far, and after a lot of reading (and thinking), I decided on this one, and thankfully managed to find one, since they are so hard for stores to keep in stock! Brought it home with a couple of games and tried it out, and it's great. Quite the workout when playing Wii Sports - definitely not a game you can play while sitting down, which is great, having that encouragement to get off my lazy butt! Looking forward to many long hours of game play, as well as the upcoming Wii Fit :)

The Cottage

Posted : 5 days, 5 hours ago on 11 May 2008 04:14 (A review of The Cottage)

Completely awesome. Starts off really well, with lots of humour throughout the entire movie. I thought it was more of a comedy than a horror movie, but then things changed, and I was horrified while still laughing! Some really gruesome scenes, but the whole movie is amazingly good and well done. I want to add this one to my collection.

Walk All Over Me

Posted : 5 days, 15 hours ago on 11 May 2008 05:42 (A review of Walk All Over Me)

Nothing overly special here. Entertaining, but just barely, because aside from the completely predictable plot, "Alberta" and her "customer" are annoying characters. Not to mention the idiotic tough guys who are downright stupid and unbelievable. The whole production is wholly unbelievable, but this is somewhat watchable and entertaining at times, despite the utter stupidity.

Youth Without Youth

Posted : 5 days, 17 hours ago on 11 May 2008 04:00 (A review of Youth Without Youth)

I had been looking forward to seeing this since I saw it in a magazine of upcoming DVD releases, so the second I had a chance to being a copy home, I did - and I was not disappointed. Interesting story, well cast, and well acted. Tim Roth is excellent in this film.

The Orphanage

Posted : 6 days, 15 hours ago on 10 May 2008 05:45 (A review of The Orphanage)

An all-around completely excellent film. I loved The Orphanage and plan to watch it again, soon, when time permits (I always have a stack of new stuff to watch!!). Great suspense, excellent story & acting. Guillermo del Toro is one of my favourites ! A great ending as well, which is a refreshing change from all the crap endings on other movies watched recently.

Untraceable

Posted : 6 days, 15 hours ago on 10 May 2008 05:37 (A review of Untraceable)

Completely predictable and more than a little gruesome - deserving of the 18A rating...I sure wouldn't want my child seeing the kind of disturbing murders that take place in this movie. Overall, decent enough and watchable. Not anything special or really new, but definitely not a waste of time to sit down and watch, like so many others are!

Tin Man

Posted : 6 days, 16 hours ago on 10 May 2008 05:14 (A review of Tin Man (Two-Disc Collector's Edition))

Quite excellent. I really enjoyed this three-part mini-series from beginning to end. It has great music, a great cast, story, and references back to the classic Wizard of Oz.

Mad Money

Posted : 1 week, 1 day ago on 8 May 2008 04:41 (A review of Mad Money)

Nothing really special with this one. Just a middle-of-the-road type of comedy. Cute enough, though Katie Holmes is completely talentless (why she ever was allowed to transition from the small screen to the big is beyond me). A good cast, aside from Katie Holmes...decent/watchable story, but not much more to say here. It's a ridiculous story and ends up with a typical happy ending - and a predictable one at that.

The Last Hour

Posted : 1 week, 4 days ago on 5 May 2008 12:55 (A review of The Last Hour)

Absolutely awful. I only watched about 10 minutes, and that was too long to sit through the painfully awful dialogue AND acting. A movie full of cliches and stereotyped characters that is just absolutely terrible. I can't believe I wasted 10 minutes of my time waiting to see if it would get any better from the opening scene, when I knew I was sitting in front of something not worth watching!!

Hottie & the Nottie

Posted : 2 weeks, 1 day ago on 1 May 2008 03:57 (A review of Hottie & the Nottie)

Why was this movie even made? To give Paris Hilton something to do? She isn't the "hottie" that the movie claims she is. The sad fact is that the little girl who plays the younger version of Paris' character is SO much prettier than Paris Hilton. The guy chasing Paris Hilton wouldn't have a chance with her, ever, and the acting totally sucks, along with a horrible story, and a completely ridiculous one at that.
